A fan took to Twitter and directly asked Gaiman if the rumor of a possible Coraline 2 movie coming out later this year is true. Unfortunately, it looks as though the likelihood of a sequel ever happening has been shut down by Gaiman. Due to Coraline's massive success in both the Academy and theatrical arena, it naturally made fans assume there would eventually be a sequel at some point. However, the film didn’t just gain critical acclaim, it also brought home $124 million at the box office despite only having a $60 million budget.
